While fans wait to see Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner fall in love on the big screen in "Valentine's Day" when it opens February 12, they can hear a bit of Swift's new song, "Today Was a Fairytale," in a leaked featurette for the film.

In the new song for the soundtrack, which will be released just days before the film on February 9, Swift sings about a magical day. Her song "Jump Then Fall" will also be on the soundtrack, according to celebrity-mania.com. The featurette also includes a brief scene of Swift swinging her hair while a TV crew stands around watching her.

The Web site posted a full track list for the soundtrack. Leighton Meester's duet with Robin Thicke, "Somebody to Love," made the cut, as well as "Cupid" by Amy Winehouse, Maroon 5's "The Way You Look Tonight" and "4 and 20" by Joss Stone.

In the featurette, members of the ensemble cast — including Julia Roberts, Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Alba, Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Garner — discuss the film and the ups and downs of Valentine's Day. "Valentine's Day ... it's like birthdays. People either love them and love to celebrate and get caught up in it or you just hate it," Roberts says. "Valentine's Day is tricky."

Jessica Biel also discusses the day of love in the clip, saying, "Valentine's Day makes people crazy." In the film, Biel plays Kara, who doesn't want anything to do with hearts or love or Cupid. Biel added, "It makes you feel like you should have someone."

Rolling Stone

Taylor Swift will make her big-screen acting debut in the upcoming rom-com Valentine’s Day, but since this is Taylor Swift we’re talking about — one of the few artists who’s ever been asked juggle hosting and musical guest duties on Saturday Night Live — she’ll also contribute a pair of songs to the Valentine’s Day soundtrack. The first is “Today Was a Fairytale,” which was released through iTunes yesterday. You can preview “Today Was a Fairytale” and Swift’s other Valentine’s contribution “Jump Then Fall” on the film’s official Website.

A portion of “Today Was a Fairytale” was previewed in commercials for Valentine’s Day, and judging by those ads, Swift and her (reported) ex-boyfriend Taylor Lautner, also a recent Rolling Stone cover star, will portray a high school couple in one of the film’s many vignettes. The film also stars Julia Roberts, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel and Jamie Foxx.

Taylor Swift is gearing up to release some new music in 2010. Her new song “Today Was a Fairytale” has just been released and is already the No. 1 song on the iTunes Top Songs chart. “Today Was a Fairytale” is also featured on the soundtrack to Taylor’s upcoming flick Valentine’s Day, a movie filled with heavy hitting A-listers. Taylor filmed her scenes with ex-boyfriend and Twilight hunk Taylor Lautner.

The theme and lyrics of the song definitely fit in with Taylor’s past themes and her distinct sound.

Here are the lyrics to the catchy refrain of Swifty’s sweet song:

But can you feel this magic in the air?/It must have been the way you kissed me/Fell in love when I saw you standing there/It must have been the way/Today was a fairytale.

Today's Country Magazine

The film Valentine's Day caught a lot of media buzz much due in part to the real life rumors of co-stars Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner hooking up. The movie, a romantic flick that follows couples and singles in LA surrounding the pressures of the February holiday the movie is named after also stars the likes of Jamie Foxx, Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Biel, Queen Latifah, and more. So with an all-star cast like that, here comes the accompanying soundtrack that's filled with all-stars as well. With all of the attention around her right now, Taylor Swift's two songs seem to be the early selling point as she offers fans the chance to hear some new music with "Today Was A Fairytale" and "Jump Then Fall." As far as the country genre goes throughout the soundtrack's 18 cuts you also get icons like Willie Nelson's "On the Street Where You Live," Steel Magnolia offer their chart climbing single "Keep On Lovin' You," and Jewel gives fans a taste of her new music as well with "Stay Here Forever." But with the diverse cast in the movie this is also a very diverse soundtrack that bounces across genre to genre. You get tastes of adult alternative artists like Maroon 5 and Joss Stone, tabloid darling Amy Winehouse, and a cut by legendary artist Nat King Cole. Compilation discs are tough because there isn't necessarily a consistency musically and this one follows suit by offering so many different genres, but of course with a soundtrack the point is that the film's scenes are accompanied perfectly by the music selection and I am certain they are with this one based on the different styles of the film's stars and the different styles of soundtrack's songs.

Jewel exploded on the music scene with her 1995 debut album, Pieces of You. Her introspective folk-pop songs and vocal talents drew comparisons to Alanis Morissette and Tori Amos, and her second album, Spirit (1998) also was well received.  But in the years since then she her style has drifted from folk rock and pop to country. Jewel also published “A Night Without Armor,” a collection of poetry, in 1998 that became a best-seller, and co-starred with Tobey Maguire and Skeet Ulrich in the 1999 film “Ride With the Devil” (directed by Ang Lee). Her other records include a collection of Christmas songs, Joy: A Holiday Collection (1999), and 2001’s This Way.
